Bendigeri (Karnataka) [India], Girish alias Vishwa Sawant – accused of murdering 21-year-old college student Anjali Ambigar in Hubbal, Karnataka, was taken to Bendigeri police station on Wednesday. The accused will be presented in the court today. It is noteworthy that accused Girish was admitted to KIMS Hospital after getting injured after falling from the train in Davanagere. Today, CID took Girish into custody from KIMS hospital after he was discharged from there. The case pertains to the murder of Anjali Ambigar, who was stabbed to death by the accused at her home in Hubli on May 15. Anjali had reportedly rejected the marriage proposal of Girish, who claimed that he was in love with her.Girish had allegedly threatened to kill the victim in the same manner as the 21-year-old Hubli College student who was stabbed to death by her former classmate. Reportedly, Girish entered Anjali's house early in the morning, stabbed her multiple times with a knife and then fled from the spot. Soon after the incident came to light, there was anger among the local people and they started protesting and demanded action against the accused. Before the incident, Anjali had gone to Bendigeri police station to lodge a complaint against the accused, but the police allegedly sent her back. Hubli Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar had last week said that two police officers had been suspended for dereliction of duty in the case after the victim had approached them to lodge a complaint.According to reports, the accused had threatened to kill Anjali like 21-year-old Hubli College student Neha Hiremath, who was allegedly stabbed to death by her former classmate. Neha Hiremath (21) was allegedly stabbed to death by her former classmate Faya Khodunaik on the campus of KLE Technological University in Hubli Dharwad, where she was a first-year MCA student. Police arrested Faiyaz within hours of the incident and produced him before a magistrate, who sent him to 14-day judicial custody. The CID took Faiyaz into custody and he was later brought to Hubli from Dharwad.
