Kalaburagi (Karnataka), Karnataka Minister BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan on Thursday said there was nothing wrong in holding the Palestinian flag, claiming that the central government has extended its support to the Palestinian state.

He said that raising slogans in praise of other countries is wrong.

Incidents of Palestinian flags being waved during the Milad-ul-Nabi procession were reported in Karnataka's Chitradurga, Davanagere and Kolar on Monday.

Additionally, six minors were caught in Chikkamagaluru after a video of them allegedly riding a two-wheeler holding a Palestinian flag surfaced on social media platforms.

"The central government itself has supported Palestine, the central government has announced that we are supporting Palestine. Just because someone held the flag, the BJP is making it a big issue. If someone holds up the flag to another country' What Jai says is wrong, he is a traitor and should be hanged, but according to me, there is nothing wrong in holding the (Palestinian) flag,” Khan said.

Speaking to reporters here, the Housing and Minority Welfare Minister said, "As they (Centre) announced support (to Palestine), the flag was held. Otherwise why would anyone hold the flag?"

Native is Kerala. "They're local because they're settled there."

"50 years ago, since their father's time, they settled there (Nagamangala). They have Aadhaar, voter card and BPL card, they are locals now. BJP has no issues... there is no one in our country Can settle in any state...they are settled here, they have a house, they are local, Kannadigas now,” he said.
