Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], The Karnataka High Court has granted anticipatory bail to Bhavani Revanna, mother of suspended Janata Dal (Secular) MP Prajwal Revanna, in a kidnapping case related to the obscene video case. Bail exempts him from arrest

Krishna Dixit, a single judge bench of the Special Representatives Court, granted bail to Bhavani Revanna.

While granting bail, the court also said that the petitioner should not go to Mysore and Hassan.

Earlier on June 15, the court had extended the anticipatory bail granted to Bhavani in a kidnapping case related to the pornographic video case.

The bench headed by Dixit completed the arguments and reserved the verdict.The court ordered to extend the interim anticipatory bail given earlier till further orders.

Earlier on June 7, Karnataka High Court had granted anticipatory bail to Bhavani in the case.

As per the order of the court, the petitioner attended the hearing for three days.

The petitioner said, "Bhavani is not cooperating in the investigation. Everything is misinformation. No question has been answered correctly. Bhavani Revanna is the main accused in the entire case. He had played an important role in the kidnapping of the victim. “In case of non-cooperation, he should be taken into custody and interrogated, hence the anticipatory bail already granted should be cancelled.”

In this case, the bench asked the investigating authority to give reasons why the detention should be done.

The bench said, “Bhavani's lawyer, the petitioner, is appearing before the investigating officers and is cooperating with the police in every way. Therefore there is no need for arrest.,

Also, arresting and interrogating in this manner means that all the accused will have to be sent to police custody.

Bhavani is an accused in the kidnapping case registered under sections 64, 365, 109, 120 (B) of the IPC.

Her husband HD Revanna was earlier arrested on April 29 in a kidnapping case and was granted conditional bail by a special court for public representatives.

The case, registered at Holenarasipura Town police station on April 28, involves allegations of sexual harassment by Revanna and his son, Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, against their house maid.
