Bengaluru, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar's brother and MP DK Suresh on Tuesday lost the Bengaluru Rural Lok Sabha seat by a margin of 2,69,647 votes.

BJP's Dr CN Manjunath, renowned cardiologist and son-in-law of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, won the seat.

As per the agreement between alliance partners BJP and JD(S), Manjunath contested the elections on the saffron party ticket.

According to the Election Commission, Suresh, who was the only Congress candidate to win the 2019 Lok Sabha election in Karnataka, got 8,09,355 votes, and Manjunath got 10,79,002 votes.
