Mangaluru (Karnataka) [India], Four people lost their lives after a wall collapsed on a house in Madani Nagar area on the outskirts of Mangaluru, an official said.

The incident took place on Wednesday morning in Ullal police station area and all the deceased are said to be family members.

"Four people died after a retaining wall collapsed at a house in Madani Nagara on the outskirts of Mangaluru," Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Mullai Muhilan said.

After the incident, local people reached the spot and pulled out the people buried under the debris.

Notably, it has been raining in Dakshina Kannada since Tuesday night.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued an orange alert in the district till June 27.

Earlier, on June 14, two people had lost their lives after a portion of a house collapsed in Vijay Nagar in Mumbai's Antop Hill area, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.
