Mumbai: "Kalki 2898 AD" has continued its dominance at the box office and crossed the Rs 900 crore mark globally in 11 days, the makers announced on Monday.

Starring stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani and Prabhas, the film remains ahead of the competition with its collection.

The makers shared an update on the film's collection on 'X' along with a poster featuring Prabhas' character from the film. It is mentioned, "Epic mega blockbuster ₹900+ crore worldwide." The caption of the post reads, "Moving towards a magical milestone...#EpicBlockbusterKalki in theatres."

Directed by Nag Ashwin, who has previously directed projects like "Mahanati" and "Yevade Subramaniam", the film is produced by Vyjayanthi Movies.

It crossed the Rs 500 crore mark at the box office during its opening week and if the momentum continues, the film is expected to cross Rs 1000 crore worldwide.

Bachchan, 81, who plays the immortal warrior Ashwatthama in the film, had earlier expressed his appreciation for the project in a long post on his personal blog. Calling it a "huge spectacle", the actor said the film is a "merger of myth and reality" and "a lesson for filmmakers on the process of putting together a spectacle for the audience."

"Kalki 2898 AD" is reportedly the most expensive film ever made in India with a budget of Rs 600 crore. The film had a global release on 27 June in five different languages, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi and English.

Previously titled "Project K", the film is described as a blend of the Hindu epic Mahabharata and science fiction. It also stars Saswata Chatterjee and Shobhana in lead roles. The film is currently running in theatres.
