Pune: The Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) on Friday allowed police to investigate a minor allegedly involved in the Porsche accident in which two technicians died, an official said.

The police had written a letter to JJB seeking permission to investigate the 17-year-old boy, who is currently in the observation home.

“The hearing was held before the JJ board and it accepted our petition,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shailesh Balkawade.

Police claim the teen was driving a luxury car under the influence of alcohol when it hit two IT professionals riding a motorcycle in the Kalyani Nagar area of ​​the city on the morning of May 19.

Under the Juvenile Justice Act, the minor must be interrogated in the presence of parents.JJB granted bail to Kishore, son of real estate developer Visha Agarwal, hours after the May 19 accident and asked him to write a 300-word essay on road safety. After the juvenile was granted bail by a JJ board member, the Maharashtra government formed a committee to probe the conduct of JJ members and whether norms were followed while issuing orders in the Pune CA accident case. Formed.

The JJB consists of one member from the judiciary and two persons appointed by the state government.The official said the current inquiry has been set up to probe the conduct of state-appointed members.

The minor's father Vishal Agarwal and grandfather Surendra Agarwal have been arrested for wrongfully imprisoning the family driver after the accident, offering cash and gifts to take the blame (and save the minor), and threatening him.
