New Delhi, Justice Sheel Nagu was appointed Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Thursday, the Law Ministry said.

Justice Nagu is currently the acting Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court.

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended his name on December 27 last year.

His elevation was recommended after the retirement of Justice Ravi Shankar Jha as Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court.
