New Delhi, JSW Steel has reported a 65 per cent decline in consolidated net profit for the March 2024 quarter at Rs 1,322 crore due to higher raw material costs and some other expenses.

The company said in an exchange filing on Friday that it had made a net profit of Rs 3,741 crore in the fourth quarter of the last financial year.

The company's total income also fell to Rs 46,511.28 crore in January-March FY23 from Rs 47,427 crore.

Its expenditure during the period under review stood at Rs 44,401 crore, which was Rs 43,170 crore a year ago.

Among expenses, the cost of raw materials consumed by the company increased to Rs 24,541 crore in January-March FY23 from Rs 23,905 crore. While “other expenses” increased to Rs 7,197 crore from Rs 6,653 crore in the year-on-year period.

In FY24, net profit increased to Rs 8,973 crore from Rs 4139 crore in FY23. Income for the full year increased from Rs 1,66,990 crore to Rs 1,76,010 crore.

The company's board of directors declared a final dividend of Rs 7.30 for FY24.
