New Delhi, The popularity of his beloved "Kota Factory" character points towards the dearth of mentor figures in people's lives, says actor Jitendra Kuman explaining why his role as Jeetu Bhaiya resonates so much with viewers.

In the Kota-set series, Jeetu bhaiya is a mentor and teacher at a coaching institute, where students prepare for the highly competitive entrance exams of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).

According to Jitendra, the character acts as a support system for students going through challenges.

"The only thing I can glean from the love this show and this character has received is that we have very few mentor figures. Either the right kind of mentoring isn't there or it's not available at all, to the point where people feel alone .

"As humans, we are social and we have the need to express ourselves and we need support, a lot. Sometimes we make friends who are in the same competition and that is why we cannot share certain things with them. "That is why people have related to this character fictional Jeetu bhaiya," Jitendra said in an interview.

In the new season of the black-and-white series, coming from The Viral Fever (TVF), students prepare for final exams while facing other challenges in their lives.

Jitendra, also known for his work in the series "TVF Pitchers" and "Panchayat", as well as the feature film "Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan", is an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur who also studied in Kota.

Recalling his days as a coach, the actor said that students were taught in large numbers in large halls and auditoriums.

"A professor used to give a lecture in a big room or auditorium for one and a half hours and there are at least 20-25 classes every week. They don't have time to personally understand the problems of each and every student.

"Students are inspired and impressed by their teachers, whether it's their teaching methods or style... My teachers were my stars and when I met them, it was huge. They dazzled me."

After the premiere of "Kota Factory," the actor said his former teachers sent him messages and congratulated him.

"I came back to Kota and met them there. And they told me how this series has changed their perspective on their work. They never thought they could connect personally with the students.

"We tend to focus too much on studies and solving numerical equations, so we forget about the students. This series has changed them a lot and now they try to help their students solve their personal problems too. And this was a winning response. for me and for this series," he said.

"Kota Factory" also features Mayur More, who plays the role of Vaibhav, an IIT aspirant in Kota.

After playing the character for three seasons, More believes that stress and anxiety over performing well in competitive exams is a very common human feeling, but one should focus on the process and enjoy it.

"You can prepare a lot but still feel stressed. Sometimes, there is stress because you feel like you have prepared too much... Sometimes, we have already decided the outcome of something in our heads and then we get disappointed. Some people achieve those results and others don't.

"I think that disappointment is very important... So you should just enjoy the process and try to improve what you have in your hands," he said.

Directed by Pratish Mehta and directed by Raghav Subbu, “Kota Factory” also features Ranjan Raj, Alam Khan, Revathi Pillai, Ahsaas Channa, Rajesh Kumar and Tillotama Shome.
