Mumbai, Reliance Jio users on Tuesday complained about a connectivity disruption with the Downdetector heat map showing issues reported by users in different parts of the country, although the telco claimed that "minor technical issues" were limited to Mumbai and had been resolved.

While a media report claimed that a data center fire was responsible for the India-wide outage for Reliance Jio users, this could not be independently verified and there was no official information from the company on the matter. .

Downdetector.com showed over 10,000 reports pointing out network issues as complaints from Jio users spiked around noon. The website's heat map tracking outages revealed that users faced issues in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and other places.

The Reliance Jio spokesperson claimed that while Jio customers in Mumbai had faced issues in availing seamless services this morning due to "minor technical issues", the same has been resolved.

"This morning, some Jio customers in Mumbai faced issues in availing integrated services due to minor technical issues. The same have been resolved and Jio integrated services have been fully restored," Reliance Jio spokesperson said.

The spokesperson added: "We regret the inconvenience caused to our subscribers."

Outage tracking website Downdetector showed Jio users flagging issues ranging from no signal to spotty internet connectivity.

At one point, most of the affected users reported having signal-related issues (no signal) and some reported issues related to mobile internet and broadband.

Some subscribers took to social media platforms to express their frustration, while others shared funny memes.

According to the subscriber count released monthly by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), India's largest telecom operator Reliance Jio had nearly 47.6 crore mobile subscribers at the end of June, while Bharti Airtel's wireless subscriber base stood at 38.9 crore and Vodafone Idea's at 21.7. millions of customers.
