Ranchi: According to available trends, BJP is leading on eight Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand, its ally AJSU Party is leading on one seat, while Congress is leading on two and JMM is leading on three seats.

According to the Election Commission, Union Minister and sitting MP Arjun Munda is trailing Congress's Kalicharan Munda by about 1.02 lakh votes in the Khunti Lok Sabha seat.

After the seventh round of counting in Singhbhum, JMM's Joba Manjhi is leading over her nearest rival BJP's Geeta Kora by 77,599 votes, officials said.

Just before the Lok Sabha elections, former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda's wife Kora joined BJP. She was the only Congress MP in the state. Former DGP and sitting BJP MP VD Ram is leading over his nearest rival RJD's Mamata Bhuyan by 1,83,234 votes in Palamu and is heading towards victory.

In Dumka, BJP's Sita Soren was earlier ahead of JMM's Nalin Soren and is now trailing by 5,087 votes in a tough contest. Sita, a three-time JMM MLA, joined the BJP just before the Lok Sabha elections.

In Godda, sitting BJP MP Nishikant Dubey is leading over his nearest rival Pradeep Yadav of Congress by 24,293 votes.-In Jamshedpur, BJP's Vidyut Baran Mahato is leading over JMM's Sameer Kumar Mohanty by 1.54 lakh votes. Union Minister Annapurna Devi is leading over CPI(ML) Liberation's Vinod Kumar Singh in Koderma by 1.06 lakh votes.

-BJP's Manish Jaiswal is leading from Congress's JP Patel by 97480 votes from Hazaribagh seat.

In Rajmahal (ST) seat, JMM's Vijay Hansdak is leading over BJP's Tala Marandi by 35,258 votes.

In Giridih, AJSU Party's CP Choudhary is leading over his nearest rival JMM's Mathura Mahato by 54,765 votes.

In Lohardaga, Sukhdev Bhagat of Congress is leading over his nearest rival Sameer Oraon of BJP by 45,081 votes.

In Dhanbad, BJP's Dhullu Mahato is leading over Congress's Anupama Singh by 92,573 votes.

In Ranchi, BJP's Sanjay Seth is leading over Congress's Yashaswini Sahay by 1.12 lakh votes.

In Chatra Lok Sabha seat, BJP's Kalicharan Singh is leading over Congress's KN Tripathi by 56167 votes.

Counting of votes for 14 Lok Sabha seats and one assembly by-election in Jharkhand began at 8 am amid heavy security arrangements. A total of 244 candidates are in the fray.

Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) K Ravi Kumar said, "Chatra and Koderma will have the maximum of 27 rounds each, while Khunti will have the least of 16 rounds. The Gandey Assembly by-election will have 24 rounds of counting.",

Altogether nine sitting MPs and 12 MLAs are contesting the parliamentary elections. In Chaibasa, an election worker fainted due to the heat and was taken to the hospital.Overall, 66.19 percent voting took place in the four phases of voting held from May 13 to June 1 in Jharkhand.

In the 2019 elections, out of 14 Lok Sabha seats, BJP had won 11 seats, while AJSU Party, Congress and JMM had won one seat each.
