An eight-year-old boy was beaten to death during a fight over collecting blackberries in Medininagar, Jharkhand's Palamu district on Friday.
A group of children were gathering blackberries under a tree when a fight broke out between two of them. Inspector Ramashish Paswan of Pandu police station said the accused, a 23-year-old man, intervened and beat one of them to death.
He said that the accused who went missing after the incident are being searched and a case has also been registered.
Police said the boy's body has been sent to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem.
