Two people were injured when a bus caught fire after coming in contact with a high voltage wire in Jharkhand's Dumka district on Saturday morning. Police gave this information.

He told that this incident happened in Shri Amda village of Digghi police station area.

He said the bus caught fire after coming in contact with an 11,000 volt overhead wire.

Anuj Kumar, in-charge of Digghi police station, said, "The driver and the helper jumped from the bus to save their lives. But, they were injured and admitted to Phulo Jhano Medical College and Hospital."

The bus was empty at the time of the incident. It had been booked for a wedding and was on its way to the venue.

A villager told that the wire was hanging about 8 feet high.

He said, "We requested the electricity department several times to increase the height. If there were passengers in the bus, a major accident could have happened."
