Los Angeles, Oscar nominee Jeffrey Wright has joined the cast of the upcoming Paramount+ spy thriller series “The Agency,” starring Michael Fassbender.

The show, which is currently under production in London, is a remake of the French series "Le Bureau des Legends."

Joe Wright will direct the first two episodes of the 10-part series written by Jez and John-Henry Butterworth.

As Deadline reports, "The Agency" will follow Martian (Fassbender), an undercover CIA agent who is ordered to leave his secret life behind and return to a London station.

The official synopsis reads, "When his estranged love reappears, romance is rekindled. Her career, her true identity, and her mission are pitted against her heart; they are both caught in an international intrigue. And is thrown into a deadly game of espionage."

Wright, who was recently nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for "American Fiction," will play Henry, director of operations and advisor to the Martian (Fassbender).

The original show "Le Bureau des Legends" was created by Eric Rochant and is a Canal+ Creation Original series produced by Top – The Originals Productions and Federation Studios.

George Clooney and Grant Heslov are attached to executive produce "The Agency" with Fassbender, Wright and the Butterworths through their Smokehouse Pictures.
