Hertfordshire (England), Jeev Milkha Singh and Jyoti Randhawa entered the next round of the Paul Lawrie Matchplay event on the Legends Tour for Seniors in Europe after winning their first-round matches here.

Both the Indians maintained their lead after being one ahead in the 16th and won 1-1.

Jeev defeated Paul Streeter, while Randhawa defeated Thomas Gogele.

Jeev will face Keith Horne in the second round, while Randhawa will face Malcolm McKenzie, who defeated 2006 Ryder Cup captain Ian Woosnam in the first round.

Tournament host Paul Lawrie had a strong start to his week by defeating Gary Marks 5&4.

The 1999 and 2012 Ryder Cup players were pleased with their play, especially after the afternoon breeze.

Scott Hynd, Robert Coles, Adilson da Silva and James Kingston were also among the opening day winners in Hertfordshire, as were Angel Cabrera, Bradley Dredge, Jarmo Sandelin, Niklas Fast and Mikael Lundberg.
