Minister of State Shambhuraj Desai, MP Sandipan Bhumre, MLA Ranajagjitsingh P. Patil and other officials traveled to Antarwali-Sarti village, where Jarange-Patil had started the agitation on June 8.

The official team reached there soon after the Maratha leader issued a strict deadline of 24 hours to the government to resolve the Maratha quota issue, failing which he will intensify his agitation from Friday (June 14).

After discussions and strong appeals by the delegation, Jarange-Patil agreed to extend his ultimatum by a month – till 13 July – to enable the government to implement the necessary measures for the Maratha quota.

Jarange-Patil reiterated his earlier warning that Marathas will not only contest all 288 Maharashtra Assembly elections in October, but also name specific candidates from all parties, against whom the community will collectively vote, and they will come to power and give reservation.

Desai told media persons that the delegation assured him that the Mahayuti government was working sincerely to implement the pending demands including 'Sej-Soyare' (Bloodline) without unnecessary delay.He declared, "We are committed and we will definitely resolve the issue of Maratha reservation within the framework of law, the objections will be placed before the next Cabinet meeting. There is no intention to delay or drag on the matter."

The minister said the decision was delayed due to the election code of conduct for two months during the Lok Sabha elections, but now it will be revived and he will talk to the officials concerned and speed up the process of issuing the notification. 'Sage-Soare'.

After the assurance, Jarange-Patil accepted a glass of orange juice from the delegation members, marking the end of her fifth hunger strike in the last 11 months.
