Reasi police has registered an FIR under section 295 of the IPC.

According to police, teams swung into action and detained three suspects during the night. The raids continued during the day and teams from Arnas Police Station arrested around nine more suspects for questioning in the case.

Realizing the seriousness of the case, Reasi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohita Sharma formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT).

Sharing details, SSP Reasi said that so far around 12 suspects have been held for questioning in the case and further investigation in the case is underway.

The SSP further appealed that the people of Reasi should remain calm and maintain peace and communal harmony in the area.

Reasi Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Iftekhar said that anti-social elements who want to disturb the Hindu-Muslim brotherhood will be caught.

"Yesterday at 7.30 pm, an incident was reported in Dharamdi area in which an unidentified person entered and tried to vandalize a temple. Police have registered a case and around three suspects have been detained. "Many more people have been identified."
