Shopian (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], In a significant crackdown on drug smuggling, police seized illegal properties worth crores of rupees of two notorious drug smugglers in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir. Both the drug smugglers have been identified as Mohammad Yakub Shah and Adi Hussain Shah, residents of Rawalpora, Shopian. According to the police, both police stations Shopian were involved in case FIR number 69/2024 under Section 8/21-29 of the NDPS Act, “while continuing its unwavering efforts to eliminate the drug menace from the society, Police seized property worth crores of two people." The notorious drug smuggler earned money from illegal smuggling of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in Shopian, Shopian police said in a statement. The attached properties include two kanal land under survey number 42 min at Palpora Shopian, 1 kanal 18 marla land under survey number 133 village Chaudharygund Shopian and a shop built on Abadi deh land (240 sq. ft.). Police said, survey Mohd. in village Hargam district Shopian. 532 minutes. The action was taken under Section 68-E read with 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act 1985 and is linked to a case under Section 8/21-29 NDPS Act of Police Station Shopian entitled "Property Illegally Recognized" "During the investigation conducted by the Shopian Police, prima facie this property was acquired by the drug smuggler through illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances," Shopian Police further said.
