Jammu: Police on Thursday registered an FIR against hotel and lodge owners for failing to install CCTV cameras in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district.
A police spokesperson said, "In compliance with the order of Reasi District Magistrate regarding installation of CCTV cameras in hotels and lodges, the police conducted a surprise check in Katra town."
He said that during inspection of hotels and lodges in Katra, five lodges were found without CCTV cameras. He said that in this regard, five FIRs were registered in Katra against the lodge owners for non-compliance of the order.
Reasi District Magistrate directed that CCTV cameras should be installed in all hotels, lodges and medical shops.
Reasi SSP Mohita Sharma appealed to the owners of hotels, lodges and medical shops in the district to use technology and install CCTV cameras in their premises to keep an eye on criminal elements in the society. 5/25/2024 MNK
