Srinagar: Police on Thursday attached land and property worth Rs 1 crore of five Pakistan-based terrorist handlers in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district, officials said.

"After receiving the attachment order passed by the Hon'ble Court of Baramulla, the police in Baramulla attached nine kanals (1.125 acres) of land worth Rs 1 crore belonging to five Pakistan-based terror handlers," an official statement said.

"During the investigation conducted by the police, the property was identified as belonging to terrorist operators," it said.

Officials said the terrorist operators have been identified as Bashir Ahmed Ghani, Mehraj ud Din Lone, Ghulam Mohammad Yatu, Abdul Rehman Bhat and Abdul Rashid Lone.

He said the action was taken under Section 83 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and action was taken against accused persons in a case registered in 2008.
