Budgam (Jammu & Kashmir) [India], In an important step to enhance public safety and maintain order, Budgam Police, acting on the directions of the Competent Court, has successfully installed GPS tracking anklet on a person named Mudasir Faiyaz. Budgam police said, accused of providing support to terrorism in Kashmir.

This pertains to case FIR No: 150 of 2022 read with Section 7/25 of Arms Act of PS Chadoora under Sections 18, 23, 38 and 39 of UAPA.

The use of GPS tracking gadgets in high-profile cases underscores law enforcement's commitment to maintaining public safety. These tools allow officers to carefully monitor the activities of high-risk criminals, significantly reducing the likelihood of further criminal activity.

Putting GPS tracking anklets on the accused ensures that their movements can be tracked in real time and their entry into prohibited areas or leaving the geographical limits stipulated in the court order can be monitored.
