Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India]: The fire that broke out in Srinagar's Malaratta area, which destroyed a mosque, some shops and residential houses, has been brought under control, officials said on Monday.

Srinagar Deputy Commissioner Bilal Mohiuddin told ANI, "A mosque, some shops and residential houses were gutted in the fire... 12 fire tenders along with hydraulic cranes have been deployed. The fire is under control..."

“We will find out the cause of the fire,” DC Mohiuddin said before leaving for the fire site.

He further said that the entire team including ADC, Tehsildar and police officers are present at the spot.
