The threat of state-sponsored hacking is increasing across the world, including India.

According to Professor Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Advisor to the government, now is the time to scale up successful projects like hardware security testing and post-quantum cryptography.

Speaking at the foundation day of the Society for Electronic Transactions and Security (SETS) in Chennai, Sood encouraged SETS to deepen its collaboration with industry, R&D laboratories and academia to ensure that the country The computing and communication infrastructure of is quantum-safe.

On this occasion, Sood also inaugurated the Quantum Security Research Lab.

Conceived by former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam in 2002, SETS is a cyber security research and development organization that conducts research in the core areas of cyber security, cryptology, hardware security, quantum security and network security.

According to Dr. Parvinder Maini, Scientific Secretary, these advancements are important for SETS to effectively deal with cyber security challenges and develop robust solutions.

Dr. Maini also mentioned SETS's involvement in cutting-edge projects including AI for cyber security under the National Supercomputing Mission.

He stressed the importance of standards-based development for international cooperation in areas such as quantum communications and 6G.

Dr. Sanjay Bahl, Director General, Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), mentioned the emerging cyber security concerns in the context of AI, proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) and drones.
