Shimla, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is spreading false propaganda on the Agniveer military recruitment scheme.

Gandhi, in his first election meeting in Haryana for the Lok Sabha elections on Wednesday, had said that if the India Bloc came to power, the Agniveer scheme would be scrapped and thrown into the dustbin. He also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for 'turning Indian soldiers into labourers'.

Shah said that 25 percent of Agniveers will get permanent appointment in the army, while the remaining 75 percent will be given reservation in the state government and paramilitary forces. Therefore, there will be a rare Agnivi who will not be employed, the Home Minister said.

Talking to journalists in Dharamshala, Shah said that Gandhi is spreading false propaganda on Agniveer and creating an issue by telling lies. The BJP leader said, 'Rahul has started the tradition of making lies an election issue and Agniveer is the biggest example of this.'

Shah said, "25 percent of Agniveers will get permanent appointment in the army." BJP ruled state governments have made 10-20 percent reservation for Agniveer in the police, apart from this 10 percent reservation has also been made in the central paramilitary forces. " Said.

Many relaxations have been given to Agniveers like not appearing in age, examination and even physical test, he said, adding that there would be a rare Agniveer who would not be recruited into the state police or central paramilitary forces.

Shah said that besides this, private security agencies and companies will also give preference to Agniveer, who will be trained at government expense, will also get good salary, gratuity and other benefits and a job.
