"A surface-to-air missile was fired at a drone operating in Lebanese airspace," the IDF wrote on Telegram.

The IDF said the drone was shot down and landed in Lebanon. It said fighter planes attacked the missile launch site.

The information could not initially be independently verified.

Fighting broke out with Lebanon on Sunday, with the Israeli military announcing that two shells had been fired in the direction of the northern Israeli village of Rosh Hanikra on the Mediterranean Sea.

I said, the Israeli army attacked the places from where the shots were fired, the fighter planes also attacked the terrorist structure north-east of Nabatieh. Earlier, warplanes had also fired on positions of the Iran-backed Lebanese Shia militia Hezbollah.

Both Hezbollah and the military wing of the Palestinian militant organization Hama claimed responsibility for the attacks on Israel on Sunday.

Since the beginning of the Gaza war in October, daily firing along the border between Lebanon and Israel has resulted in deaths and injuries.
