Tel Aviv [Israel], Overnight, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant spoke with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. The discussions focused on operational developments in the southern and northern areas as well as the shared commitment of the two countries to ensure the release of Hamas hostages in Gaza. Minister Gallant briefed the Secretary on the ongoing activities of the Israel Defense Forces in Gaza and preparations for future operations. They also discussed humanitarian efforts, including the opening of new land crossings and a significant increase in the volume of aid over the past month – doubling the number of aid trucks entering Gaza. Minister Gallant also discussed the ongoing aggression by Hezbollah and stressed Israel's commitment to return Israel's northern communities to their homes, whether through agreements or military action. The parties also discussed Iranian threats to regional stability and Israel's security. Minister Gallant stressed the importance of maintaining a united front and joint regional efforts to counter Iran's proxy attacks and nuclear ambitions. The Minister commended the Secretary for his strong commitment to Israel's security and long-term partnership.
