The move comes soon after Israel announced that it has agreed to resume talks with Hamas on a hostage deal brokered by Egypt, Qatar and the US soon, Xinhua news agency reported.

On October 7, 2023, Israel launched a large-scale attack against Hamas in the Gaza Strip in response to Hamas' incursion through the southern Israeli border, during which approximately 1,200 people were killed and more than 250 were taken hostage.

Health officials in the Palestinian enclave said in a press statement on Saturday that Israeli attacks have so far killed more than 35,900 people in the Gaza Strip.
