A moderate earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale struck Manipur's Bishnupur district at 7.09 pm. on Wednesday.

Another tremor measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale was felt in Assam's Karbi Anglong district at 9.54 pm. on Wednesday.

According to disaster management officials in Manipur and Assam, there were no immediate reports of any casualties or damage to property.

According to NCS, both earthquakes occurred at a depth of 25 km from the surface.

Seismologists consider the northeastern region to be the sixth most earthquake-prone region in the world.
