RCB broke their four-match winning streak by defeating SRH by 35 runs at their home ground Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. RCB, who came to bat first, scored a total of 206/7 runs in 20 overs thanks to Rajat Patidar's half-century in 19 balls and Veera Kohli's 51 runs.

Considering that SRH have scored the two highest scores this season, it was a target worth chasing for them but they failed to gain any momentum and fell to their third defeat of the season.

Vettori stressed on learning from the defeat and asked the team to focus on the upcoming match against Chennai Super Kings. Vettori believed that the approach to goal chasing should be different but he did not want to change his team's attacking playing style.

“I think you know, we were successful in setting the target, and now we don't have to focus on our way of chasing the target, and we are up against a very good Chennai team. And so, I Guess we have to distance ourselves from this game, understanding that the Chepauk wicket will be different, and we don't have to go about it differently, so we only have a few days to implement it, but I am right now. I also think on this field and on the surface, we have to be aggressive and win the game," Vettori said in the post-match press conference.

Despite their third defeat in eight matches, SRH are firmly placed at the third position on the points table and will next face Chennai Super Kings in Chepauk on Sunday.
