Gaikwad hit 10 fours and three sixes in his 54-ball innings at a strike rate of 181.4. Mitchell finally performed well after a poor start to the tournament, hitting seven fours and a six in 32 balls and sharing a 107-run partnership with Gaikwad.

Shivam Dubey's unbeaten inning of 39 runs with the help of four sixes and one four in 20 balls was helpful in taking CSK beyond 200 consecutively. CSK, who came to bat first, had a cautious start and hit only two fours in 2.1 overs.
