According to the NIA, the conspiracy was hatched by Kuki and Zomi insurgents, supported by terrorist organizations based in the north-eastern states and neighboring Myanmar, with the aim of taking advantage of the existing ethnic unrest in the region and waging war against the Indian government. through violent attacks.

"The accused was found involved in attacks on security forces at various locations during the ongoing insurgency and violence. He was in contact with Myanmar's insurgent group, Kuki National Front (KNF)-B, for logistics support to further the insurgency.NIA said, creating unstable situation in the state of Manipur and creating terror in the minds of people.

NIA investigation has revealed that the accused had met leaders of PDF/KNF-B (Myanmar) for supply of arms, ammunition and explosives for use in the current phase of violence in Manipur. He has admitted to taking part in several armed attacks against security forces and opposition groups in the ongoing crisis in the state. "He has also admitted to being a member of the Kuki National Front-Military Council (KNF-MC) and the United Tribal Volunteers (UTV)."
