Islamabad [Pakistan], within Imran Khan's party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, an internal rift has emerged, according to its internal report, which blames party leader Sher Afzal Marwat for the fight between the leader of the opposition, Omar Ayub, and other workers of the party, based in Pakistan. Geo News reported, citing The News.

The report, which will be presented to the founder on July 2, holds Marwat responsible for the fight with Omar.

The fight reportedly took place outside the Islamabad court complex on Thursday, when a district and sessions court rejected pleas by founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Imran to stay their sentences in the 'Iddat' case.

Marwat had wished to lead the party's protest rally with the support of Khan, however, this led to an unpleasant situation, forcing Omar to leave the venue in a hurry and in complete disbelief.

Marwat has remained in the spotlight for the past few months due to his direct comments and his differences with party workers. He was removed from the central committee and political committee and issued a show-cause notice due to his outspoken comments, Geo News reported.

Amid these reports, Marwat took to social media platform "collective wisdom."

"There may be differences on specific issues," Marwat said. "And those elements who are spreading rumors of an advanced bloc, they are against... it is one and it is united under the leadership of Khan Sahib [Imran Khan]."

Earlier this week, following the resignation of Omar Ayub as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf general secretary, Marwat demanded the resignation of Senator Shibli Faraz, saying the party would be freed from the 'qabza mafia'. This refers to the fact that Ayub had said that only "certain people" can meet the party supremo while others cannot, Geo News reported.

Last week, a district and sessions court in Islamabad rejected the pleas of Pakistan's former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi and upheld their seven-year sentences in the Iddar case.

Ahead of the general elections, on February 3, an Islamabad court sentenced the couple to seven years in prison and fined them PKR 500,000 each for getting married during the Iddat period of Bushra Bibi.

The couple received 14 years in prison in the Toshakhana case, while Imran and his Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi received 10 years in prison in the Cypher case, the same week the verdict was handed down.
