Ramgarh: A 24-year-old man who allegedly hacked an ATM was arrested from Bihar's Gaya district on Monday, police said.

He said he was arrested based on a complaint initiated by the Marar branch of the Indian Overseas Bank in Jharkhand's Ramgarh district.

The man, identified as Chandan Kumar of Fatehpur, Gaya, allegedly used to open the ATM card insertion slot and install a device that read the PI of customers, he said.

Police said he then used the PIN to withdraw money from their bank accounts.

He said that the equipment used for such hacking has been seized from him.

Police said Chandan was also wanted in several police cases registered in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
