New Delhi: The Navy on Monday said INS Kulish, deployed for maritime surveillance, has swiftly responded to the distress call by a fishing vessel which was first detected about 75 nautical miles east of Port Blair.

The Navy shared this information and some pictures in a post on Twitter.

"#INSKulish deployed for #maritime surveillance immediately responded to distress call by fishing vessel INFAN DHAS. On 05 Jun 24, #CoastGuard surveillance aircraft detected FV INFAN DHAS approximately 75 nautical miles east of #PortBlair. "The ship with seven crew on board was reported to have engine failure and assistance was requested. #INSKulish #07 reached the ship's vicinity in the early hours of June 24," the Navy said on X.

"The ship's technical team rectified the fault and restarted the engine rapidly, allowing the vessel to continue fishing operations. @IndiaCoastGuard @AN_Command," it said.
