New Delhi: Issues related to land acquisition posing hurdles in setting up manufacturing facilities were discussed at the CEO roundtable meeting organized by Assocham, the chamber said on Thursday.

The conference was attended by representatives from government, public and private sector companies, academia, banking, automotive and infrastructure developers.

Corporate leaders suggested strengthening the single window clearance system for easier compliance of rules and regulations as a solution to issues related to LAN acquisition.

The need to strengthen the research and development eco-system was another major issue of discussion, with all attendees calling for greater collaboration between industry, academia and research institutions.

Assocham said stronger IP laws were also discussed to promote R&D and ensure maximum protection.

To take the growth story forward, several key areas and focus areas such as harmonization of standards, better availability of finance for SMEs and MSMEs, changes in logistics policy and making it more seamless and cost effective were discussed in the meeting.
