Indore: Police have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the death of the 21-year-old grandson of BJP MLA Hazarilal Dangi in Indore, an official said on Wednesday.
The MLA from Khilchipur in Rajgarh district has suspected "malicious intention or mental torture of any person" behind the alleged suicide of his grandson Vijay Dangi alias Vikas and has sent an application to the police, the official said.
Vikas's body was found in a rented house in Gandhi Nagar area of Indore on May 20.
According to the police, preliminary investigation has revealed that Vikas allegedly committed suicide by swallowing poisonous substance.
The officer said Vikas, an LLB student at a reputed institute in Indore, had left a note before his alleged suicide stating that he was responsible for his death.
He said that after the BJP MLA sent an application through one of his representatives suspecting "malicious intention or mental harassment of any person" behind his grandson's death, Indore Police Commissioner Rakesh Gupta formed a nine-member SIT. Have formed.
SIT chief Additional Police Commissioner Rajesh Dandotia said that the investigation has started.
"We will investigate in detail covering all aspects and submit the report to the police commissioner in one and a half months," he said.
