PVMBG reported that the volcano erupted for about 206 seconds at around 00:37 a.m. local time, spreading ash up to 3,500 meters above its peak, Xinhua new agency reported.

Situated at an altitude of 1,325 meters above sea level, Ibu Volcano is classified as danger level II, below the highest danger level IV.

PVMBG appealed to the public not to carry out activities within a radius of 3. km from the crater.
