The champions will be driven around the city in a specially designed bus, making the occasion a spectacular and fitting celebration of the team's victory. After meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in the morning, the team is scheduled to reach Mumbai in the afternoon.

The BCCI has arranged a road show for the world champions from Nariman Point in Mumbai to the Wankhede Stadium, where the team will be felicitated by the Indian board. This program is scheduled to start at 4 pm.

Mumbai Police has taken strict measures to ensure the safety of spectators, including traffic changes on the route.

Earlier in the day, the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team reached New Delhi via a special flight from Barbados after being stranded for several days due to Cyclone Beryl in the Caribbean.

The victorious team received a rousing welcome from the home fans in the capital and captain Rohit and Suryakumar Yadav showed off their dance moves at the airport. The team assembled at ITC Maurya before leaving for the PM residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg.

India ended their 11-year-long ICC title drought by defeating South Africa by seven runs in a thrilling final of the T20 World Cup in Barbados last week.

India also won its first ICC trophy in 2020 after the retirement of legendary captain MS Dhoni. Notably, India won its last three ICC titles 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup, 2013 Champions Trophy under his captaincy.
