FAIFA, a non-profit organization that claims to represent lakhs of farmers and farm workers, said there has been a huge surge in procurement of pulses at MSP which has also benefited farmers.



Other highlights of the report include:



• Production of more than 330.5 million metric tons of food grains in the financial year 2022-23.



• Creation of 4.60 lakh seed villages and production of more than 102 million metric tonnes of seeds



• Recognition of more than 7,000 agriculture and allied start-ups in the agriculture sector



• Coverage of 76 lakh hectares under Per Drop More Crop (Drip Irrigation Initiative since 2015)



• Achievement of 221.06 million metric tonnes of milk production, an increase of 51 percent in 9 years.



• Coverage of over 11 lakh hectares under Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) since 2016, apart from various other notable achievements



FAIFA, which claims to represent farmers from states like Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka etc., organized the seminar – Ensuring Farmer Livelihood: Sustainable Agriculture – at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi on Wednesday. Increasing farmer income through practices.



A strategy to increase the income of farmers in a sustainable manner has also been put forward in the report. Former Rajya Sabha MP GVL Narasimha Rao participated in the seminar.



The keynote speakers at the seminar were Professor MV Ashok, Senior Advisor BAIF Research and Development Foundation Pune and former Chief General Manager, NABARD and Dr. JP Tandon, former Director, Indian Council of Agricultural Research.
