According to ride-hailing platform Uber, summer holidays are the most popular time for Indians to travel abroad as schools and colleges are on holidays.
The most popular month for travel abroad in 2023 was May, while in 2022 it was June.
“Indian travel has been breaking all records over the past few years,” said Prabhjit Singh, president of Uber India and South Asia.
Data shows a sharp rise in the number of Indians using ridesharing apps abroad through 2023, with the number of foreign travelers second only to Americans.
According to the report, while abroad, Indians traveled an average of 25 percent longer distances than their trips to India and tried 21 different products in different countries.
The report mentions that during the ongoing summer travel season, Indians are expected to surpass the records set in previous years.
