Priyanshu added the third silver medal to the team by finishing second in the men's 1500 meters race with a timing of 3:50.85. Earlier, in the morning session, Reeti won a silver medal in men's discus throw. Prachi Ankush Deokar missed out on a bronze medal in the women's 3,000 metres, finishing fourth. Indian middle distance runners were also successful in the heats on the opening day.

Lakshita Vinod Sandalia and Tanvi Malik advanced to the medal round of the women's 800m, keeping them in contention for a medal in the two-lap event. Laxita finished second in the 800m heat on Wednesday with a timing of 2:09.39, while Tanv Malik crossed the finish line in fourth place in her heat with a timing of 2:12.82.

Anushka Dattatreya Kumbhar and SAI Sangeeta Dodla entered the medal round in the women's 400m.

Anushka Dattatraya Kumbhar stood first in the 400 meter heat. Sangeeta Dodla clocked 55.75 seconds and finished second in her heat with a timing of 56.21 seconds and remained in the race for the podium. In the men's 400m heat, Aman Chaudhary stood a good chance of entering the medal round. He took 48 seconds to top his heat.

Earlier, in the morning session, discus thrower Hrithik of the National Center of Excellence, Patiala in Punjab began his quest for the title with an opening throw of 49.97m. He did not get any points in his second attempt, but in his third attempt of 52.23 metres, he consolidated his position among the medal winners. His fourth attempt yielded no points, while his fifth attempt was 50.35 m and his final and sixth attempt was 53.01 m.

The gold went to Jibrin Adoum Ahmat of Qatar, whose best throw of the day was 54.80 meters. Saudi Arabia's Hassan Mubarak Alhassai won the bronze medal with 50.41 metres.
