Indian Naval Ships Kolkata and Tabar in Djibouti; Sunaina in Port Louis, Mauritius; Quiver in Salalah, Oman; Kamorta in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka; and Saryu in Belawan, Indonesia conducted yoga sessions at the respective ports, spreading the spirit of yoga across the oceans.

Naval personnel including defense civilians and their family members enthusiastically participated in the specially organized yoga programmes. Trainees from friendly foreign navies also participated with enthusiasm in the Yoga Day activities.

Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi and Navy Welfare and Wellness Association President Shashi Tripathi participated in a yoga session at Chanakya Bagh in New Delhi.

The Navy said in a statement on Friday that daily yoga sessions were conducted at all naval stations from June 11 ahead of IDY. Yoga related quizzes, poster-making and drawing competitions and lectures by yoga experts were also conducted in various naval units to adopt Yoga as a way of life.

Special Yoga programs were organized by the Naval Welfare and Wellness Association at all major Naval Stations for women and families of Naval personnel to adopt Yoga as a way of life.

Over a period of last 10 days, Indian Navy personnel including Defense Civilians and their families have participated in Yoga related activities imbibing the true spirit of this year's IDY theme - 'Yoga for Self and Society', the statement said. Participated wholeheartedly.
