The Indian women's hockey team is at sixth position in the table after scoring eight points in eight matches. So far, they have recorded wins against the United States and Australia, while also securing a shootout win against the United States. The team, led by newly appointed captain Salima Tete, will not look to score maximum points from its remaining matches.

Commenting on the team's outlook ahead of the match, Salima said, “We have an intensive training block at SAI, while we are also playing practice matches again against South Africa to prepare for these FIH Hockey Pro League matches . The difference in points between us and second placed China is only seven points.Our aim is to reduce this gap in the remaining matches against Argentina, Belgium, Germany, Great Britain so that we can finish as high as possible.

The men's team is third in the table having earned 15 points from matches. They recorded three wins in the Rourkela and Bhubaneswar leg, once against Spain and twice against Ireland. They also earned two bonus points after shootout wins against Spain and the Netherlands. Led by Captain Harmanpreet Singh, the team will use this platform to prepare for the prestigious Paris 2024 Olympics, starting from July 27.“We are grateful to have the opportunity to test ourselves against tough opponents such as Argentina, Belgium, Germany and Great Britain ahead of the Pari 2024 Olympics. Both teams will begin their European leg against Argentina on May 22, followed by consecutive matches against Belgium on May 23 and 25.They will face Argentina again on 26 May before moving on to the final stages in London, where they will play Germany on 1 and 8 June and host Great Britain on 2 and 9 June.
