Houston, In a tragic incident, a 32-year-old Indian man was shot dead during a robbery at a convenience store in the US state of Texas.

Dasari Gopikrishna, a resident of Bapatla district of Andhra Pradesh, came to America only eight months ago.

The incident occurred on June 21 at a gas station convenience store in Pleasant Grove, Dallas.

Consul General DC Manjunath, who was in Dallas for the Yoga Day event on Sunday, confirmed that the incident has no connection with the shooting in Arkansas, as earlier reported by various sources.

Expressing condolences to Gopikrishna's family, Manjunath said, "We are deeply saddened to learn of the tragic demise of Indian national Gopi Krishna Dasari in a robbery-shooting incident in Pleasant Grove, Dallas, Texas and our hearts go out to the local family." Are in touch with members."
