Antwerp [Belgium], Indian junior women's hockey team registered an emphatic win against Belgium, winning the shootout 4-2 after the score was tied 2-2 at the end of regulation time, as they continued their Europe tour. Kanik Siwach scored an impressive two goals to lead India's efforts in front of goal. The Indian junior women's hockey team was quick to regain its form and assert itself in the first quarter. India got an early penalty corner, after which Kanika Siwach took the lead. Soon after, Kanika scored her second goal of the night in the same quarter to make the score 2–0. Maintaining their momentum, India held off the Belgian unit in a goalless second quarter and found themselves in a commanding position. Belgium had chances in the third quarter, including a Crucia penalty corner, however, the Indian defensive unit managed to contain Belgium and maintain the surplus. In the last quarter, Belgium finally broke the tie, scoring twice in a row to tie the score at 2. -2, a few minutes before full-time. In the ensuing shootout, India emerged victorious, winning the match 2–2 (4–2 SO). The Indian junior women's hockey team will play its next match against Germany in Breda on Sunday.
