Srinagar: National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Saturday expressed hope that the India Bloc will win all six Lok Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh as he claimed that the BJP is scared of the opposition alliance and is resorting to spreading lies.

Asked about the party fielding its vice president Omar Abdullah from North Kashmir's Baramulla constituency and influential Shia leader Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi from Srinagar, Farooq Abdullah said some things are kept secret.

He told reporters, "If an army general says from where his army will attack, how will they win? Some things are kept secret. If they come out before the appropriate time, it does not look good. " ,

Asked about his expectations from the parliamentary elections, the National Conference president said, "God willing, the India Bloc will win all six seats.,

Congress and National Conference (NC) have announced that they will contest the Lok Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh in alliance, with both parties contesting on three seats each. Congress is contesting from Udhampur, Jammu and Ladakh seats while NC will contest from Anantnag, Srinagar and Baramulla.

President of People's Democratic Party Mehbooba Mufti has declared the names of candidates for three seats in Kashmir Valley.

In response to the question of Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacking his party PDP and Congress over dynastic politics, Farooq Abdullah said that the leaders of these parties contest elections and the public decides their fate.

“What is dynastic politics? We come through elections, not through dynasty.Has he (Modi) forgotten that there is dynasty in his party?... Is it that only in the parties of N and Congress there is dynasty? It's up to people to reject them,'' he said.

The former Union minister said politicians have to go to the people and see votes and if they do not work for the people then they are rejected.

On BJP's jibe that Congress will become extinct like dinosaurs, Faroo Abdullah said that BJP only propagates lies.

"They (India) are afraid of the alliance candidates. They don't know what to do...Why can't the Prime Minister give statehood (to Jammu and Kashmir) now? What are they waiting for? He comes to Udhampur and promises statehood." But when we have the same question for him, why can't he do that? He said.

The National Conference president said, "A new Prime Minister will come and go saying that whatever has happened will be reversed."

On PDP blaming him for the split of the People's Alliance in Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), he sarcastically said, "Thank God, everyone blamed Farooq Abdullah."

Earlier, Farooq Abdullah and NC Vice President Omar Abdullah welcomed former Surankote MLA Chaudhary Muhammad Akram into the party.
