New Delhi: The first meeting of the Joint Task Force on Investment (JTFI) between India and Qatar reaffirmed the commitment to strengthen bilateral relations, the Finance Ministry said on Thursday.

The meeting of the Joint Task Force was co-chaired by Ajay Seth, Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs, and Mohammed bin Hassan Al-Malki, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Government of the State of Qatar.

"In the spirit of promoting mutual development and prosperity, the Joint Task Force on Investment aims to both strengthen bilateral relations and leverage the collective potential for accelerated growth, investment opportunities and synergistic cooperation in various sectors ranging from infrastructure to "From energy to technology and innovation," an official statement said.

It said the JTFI underlined the importance of strong economic ties between India and Qatar, which are based on shared values, common objectives and a shared vision for inclusive growth.
