KATHMANDU, India on Monday laid the foundation stone of a school building in Nepal's Sankhuwasabha district.

Chairman of Chichil Rural Municipality Pasang Narbu Sherpa and First Secretary of the Embassy of India Kathmandu Avinash Kumar Singh laid the foundation stone for the construction of Shri Diding Basic School building.

This school will be built in Chichila Rural Municipality-3 of Sankhuwasabha district.

This project is being built with the financial assistance of Rs 40.29 million from the Government of India under 'Nepal-India Development Cooperation'.

The grant amount will be used for the construction of a two-storey academic and administrative block along with other facilities for this school.

The Chairman of Chichila Rural Municipality in his remarks appreciated the continuous developmental support of the Government of India in the upliftment of the people of Nepal in priority areas.

The new school building will be useful in providing better education facilities to the students of Shri Diding Basic School in Chichila Rural Municipality Sankhuwasabha and will create a better environment for learning as well as contribute to the development of education in the area.

Since 2003, the Government of India has initiated more than 550 high impact community development projects and completed 488 projects in various sectors in Nepal.
