Later, Asian Games medalist Abhay and third-seeded veteran Joshna Chinappa defeated Hong Kong's Cheng Nga Ching and Lai Cheuk Nam Mathew 11-8, 11-10 in the mixed doubles semi-finals.

Abhay said, “I am very happy to reach both the finals, before coming here our target was to win two gold medals, so our focus is on tomorrow.”

“The men's match was a comfortable 2-0 while the mixed match was a bit challenging, but still happy to win without losing a game. It's an honor to be in another final at the Asian Championships, I'm looking forward to getting them both to the final.”

For the mixed doubles title, Abhay and Joshna will face second seeds Tong Tze Wing and Tang Ming Hong of Hong Kong and in the men's doubles final, Abhay and Velavan will face second seeds Ong Sai Hung and Syafiq Kamal of Malaysia.

“Both pairs performed brilliantly to reach the final. Once the Asian Championships were announced, Squash Rackets Federation of India (SRFI) in collaboration with our strategic partner HCL organized the National Championships from where the pairs were selected,” said Cyrus Poncha, General Secretary, SRFI.
